Missing album art? Craving for free iPhone apps? Well sure, you can solve those somewhere else, but it’s a lot easier at the iTunes Store. But unfortunately, the iTunes Store requires you to make an Apple account… which by the way needs your credit card number.

So you may be wondering: “How can I make a FREE Apple/iTunes Store account?” Well, I’ve digged around the internet and found a very helpful article from Instructables.com. Alright, let’s get to the steps as quickly as possible:

Step 1: ) Go to the iTunes Store. It doesn’t matter if you own an iPod or an iPhone, but you’ll have to get to it anyway.

Step 2: ) Pick a free application. There are a lot of free apps listed somewhere at the bottom-right corner of the page, so you’ll have to scroll down a bit. I suggest you get your app from there.

Step 3: ) Download the app you selected by clicking the shiny ‘GET APP’ button.

Step 4: ) Create your account. It’s the big part. To download the app, iTunes will ask you to log in to your Apple account. Choose to create a new account instead. Now here’s the good part. When you get to the payment page, you’ll find a new payment option: “NONE”. Choose none, and then you’re good to go. Proceed to the next step.

Step 5: ) Congratulations! You have just created your free Apple account. You will have to verify the account first by clicking a link in your email inbox, but it’s (obviously) free. Now, you can download missing album artwork, apps, or the song of the week, etc. You can choose to keep your app or delete it. It doesn’t matter.
